Everybody loves a pyramid. When you're standing in the middle of the Avenue if the Dead, between the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, you just want to be transported back to those old Mesoamerican days. We came over especially pre-Colombian when we stomped up to the top of the Sun...with Mexico City's thin, altitud-ish air and legs that have done more sitting on buses than exercising, it was no mean feat. This World Heritage Site is the most visited of its kind in all of Mexico...and our top tip is to snub organised tours and get a taxi there instead. We arranged our trip through Hotel Isabel, and paid £40 for the two of us, including the 40 minute drive out of Mexico City and the driver waiting 3 hours for us to walk around.
