Massive 2-Week Grocery Haul: Family of 12
Welcome to my latest massive 2-week grocery haul for my family of 12. Boy, the weeks roll round quickly - a big reason why I shop fortnightly instead of weekly! It takes a lot for me to meal plan, write up a shopping list and then do the online shop. Next time, I'm going to take you through that two day process (which ends up including another half-day where groceries arrive, I film the grocery haul video, and we put everything away! It's not unusual for us to bring all this food into the house and then end up ordering in! I think this is common? So much time and effort spent getting food into the house - the last thing I feel like doing after a grocery haul is cooking! ;-P
If you have been following me for a while now, you may have noticed that my grocery budget has fluctuated recently. That is for a few reasons. Firstly, we did welcome our tenth baby earlier in the year, so that always means that the grocery budget has to be increased a little. Then there is the recent situation that everyone around the world is experiencing in one way or another. Groceries do seem to have increased in price. On top of that, our lifestyle has changed substantially. We are eating only at home, and eating a lot more homemade items, rather than processed snacks. Perhaps this saves some people money, but I used to get some very good deals at outlet stores to stick to a lower budget. I'm now buying a lot of organic items, also. This has all been balanced out for us though. As I am now officially home schooling my children, I am saving a lot of money per week that I used to spend on petrol (and it's so much nicer to spend it on food rather than three hours per day of being a taxi!). Added to that, we have been celebrating birthday parties recently, and many items for those have been included in my grocery hauls.
Stay well,
Liana
