"Born in Pachi, Kirov Oblast. He studied the piano and composition at the Kazan Conservatory with Albert Leman as his composition teacher and became a faculty member of this school. He composed orchestral, chamber and instrumental works as well as music for the theater. His other works for soloist and orchestra are: Piano Concerto (1958), Trumpet Concerto (1979), Horn Concerto (1986), Trombone Concerto (1996), Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra (1998) as well as a Concerto for Strings and Timpani (1987)."
