SUBSCRIBERS!!! Be sure to turn on your NOTIFICATIONS in your YouTube account to get an email from me when I post new videos! I don't want you to miss even one! And THANKS!

I'm sharing any revenue earned from YouTube AdSense from this video to help RWC during the Corona Virus lock-down. All non-profit animal facilities worldwide are hurting badly with people not able to travel. Volunteerism is how many like RWC survive and hope this helps.

I spend some enrichment time with Scratch the Caracal, Stewie's twin brother, when I volunteered at Running Wild Cheetah Conservation before his ultimate release into wild wild. Remember Stewie?

"Stewie The Caracal Thinks I'm His Mother" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEQjsh934vc

These two caracals were bought from a breeder in South Africa so they would not become pets. That promise to these caracals was met after they became adults and RELEASED onto a Big 5 Game Reserve (not a hunting lodge). Welgevonden Game Reserve does game drive tours of the animals there. 550000 hectars which is over 100,000 acres! Capable of comfortably housing wildlife in this Big 5 Game reserve. In this video, I share time and enrichment with Scratch. I knew the day would come when both would to be released and was blessed to have encountered them before their release.

These cats are natural hunters and no one involved doubts their chances in the wild. These captive caracals are highly capable small animal hunters and often catch birds that fly over their enclosures and eat them. Since their release, tour guides are recorded encounters of Stewie and Scratch on game drives of tourists. They are enjoying their original purpose in life... to be living free and wild.

Here is a message from the founders of Running Wild Cheetah Conservation about the caracals released in to the wild.

"Its really important to give out the message the importance of rewilding animals that can be successfully released. To many unnecessary breeding of caracals are taking place to profit from, which results in too many caracals being kept in captivity, imprisoned for life! They are intelligent animals and naturally good hunters. They adapt easily back into their natural habitat. Its important to be careful where to reintroduce them, the reserve must be large enough for them to find their own territory, settle down and not wonder off onto farmlands where they might get shot for killing livestock. This is why we chose this big reserve as a release site for these special boys who were bred by a breeder for profit and entertainment, but luckily found us to get them back into the wild, where they belong!
