Why is Drop 2 voicing so smoothly voice led? Well, in this video, taken from Berklee Online’s Music Theory 301 course, Paul Schmeling goes over a I-vi-ii-V-I chord progression, comparing the voice leading between closed voicing chords and chords voiced in Drop 2. Make sure to have a piano with you so you can not only understand but also hear the difference between both voicings.
