Flintlock (Michael Holoway) on "Pauline's Quirkes" (Thames, 1976)

Mike Holoway and Flintlock perform the old Anthony Newley hit "I've Waited So Long" on "Pauline's Quirkes" (Thames, 1976).

Any show on ITV which featured one of the "scream-age" bands usually had an air of mayhem about it (see also "Shang-A-Lang", for instance, as well as "The Arrows", "Marc", "Supersonic" and so on) as hoards of teenage girls descended on the TV studio. Things were generally better behaved over at the Beeb.

The band here is Flintlock who were resident band on a series of Thames' shows which combined music and rock-bottom z-grade humour ("You Must Be Joking", "Pauline's Quirkes", and "Fanfare") from 1975-8. Flintlock filled many a page of girls' teen magazines before inevitably the boy-band boom had come and gone.

Mike Holoway (seen here) went off into the sci-fi show "The Tomorrow People" and was later on stage in "Joseph And His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and other musicals.

Also featured, Linda Robson.
