You Can't Be Serious with guest Pauline Quirke

You Can't Be Serious was a British kid's TV series in the 1970's which was produced and directed by Roger Price, who later produced the 1980's Nickelodeon series You Can't Do That On Television! In You Can't Be Serious a group of kids interviewed and performed with a different guest star each week and the individual episodes reflected what the guest was best known for. In this episode a young actress called Pauline Quirke, who rose to fame hosting a sketch comedy series called Pauline's Quirkes, also produced by Price, joins the kids for some knockabout (Literally!) fun. One of the boys, Nigel Rhodes, will be familiar to fans of the 1970's Tomorrow People series. Here you can see him singing and getting a clip round the ear from Pauline. Some people believe that Pauline Quirke was a British cousin of a later Price discovery Christine McGlade. Interestingly the young black boy with the exaggerated cockney accent in this series is french speaking and Montreal born Andre Francois. The host is British child movie star Tommy Pender.
