Great Lakes Memory Project #4: Hannah Hilbert

History is all about storytelling, and the recording of those stories. With that in mind, The National Museum of the Great Lakes began the Great Lakes Memory Project to gather stories to save history for tomorrow. The Great Lakes Memory Project is a long term initiative to collect oral histories from people who have stories from living near, working on, or interacting with our Great Lakes.

In episode #4, we meet Hannah Hilbert, Diver and MAST Member. MAST (Maritime Archaeological Survey Team) is composed of volunteer individuals who support and participate in research, documentation, underwater archaeological surveys, and educational workshops. In this segment, Hannah discusses what it's like to dive in the Great Lakes, discover and be on a shipwreck, and how diving changed her perspective on life.

This video was produced by the National Museum of the Great Lakes with the generous support of Matt Russell, L.L.C. and Allied Media Group.
