Polysulfone (PSU) Filament in 3D Printing FFF / FDM - High-Temp, Chemically Resistant SuperPolymer

PSU - https://www.visionminer.com/materials - a high temperature aeromatic sulfone polymer -- not related to PPSU or PPS, Polysulfone has it's own unique set of characteristics -- very easy to print, with excellent thermal and chemical resistance, as well as high strength.

We've seen a lot of this material used in the food industry -- from boiling water and steam, to scoops and food handling devices, it's easy to use and applicable for a lot of industries.

One of the great things about PSU is it's transparency -- it can be printed nearly 100% clear. With very good hydrolitic resitance, not absorbing water easily, this is easier to use than some of the other plastics we offer.

A favorite for sterilization, it can be heat/steam sterilized as well as used with gamma radiation. It's not as well known as ULTEM, but matches up pretty well, lacking only the certifications. For the price, it's a contender to the throne -- cheaper and easier to print, it's a very strong material. Use it under the hood of your car, in caustic materials, with pool pumps and cleaning systems... it can even be used for custom press brake tooling!

The family of sulfone polymers is known for their toughness, stability at high temps, and chemical resistance. It's not the cheapest material on the planet, though, so it's generally been reserved for specialty applications, and is often used to replace polycarbonate where more strength is needed.

In space and medical applications, it's also known for it's gamma radiation resistance -- whether used in a sattelite or MRI machine, it's strength and resistance is saught after, along with it's UL94-V0 FST rating -- right up there with ULTEM, it's a viable material for some aerospace applications, as it's self-extinguishing and has very low outgassing.

PSU prints around 350-380°C, 120-160°C on the bed, and full heat in the chamber. It's overall easier than ULTEM, better than Polycarbonate, and very strong -- a great choice for your next project!
