Just a quick knife throwing exercise - also testing ball and socket armature I bought against an old wire armatured, cushion foam and liquid latex buildup puppet. Made them do the same thing, to see which was easier or better to animate. Less going back and correcting with the machined armature, but I think I actually have a better feel for the wire.
