Cloud9 & JetBrains Launch Esports Hackathon | EWC Winner Aydan Joins Gen.G Warzone

North American esports organization Cloud9 and software tool creator JetBrains have partnered to launch the "Sky's The Limit" esports hackathon. The event, with registration open until February 3rd, 2026, aims to push the boundaries of competitive gaming by challenging participants to create innovative tools using official League of Legends (LoL) and VALORANT data from GRID. The four main categories focus on advanced analytics and fan engagement, including developing a Comprehensive Assistant Coach, an Automated Scouting Report Generator, an AI Drafting Assistant/Predictor for LoL, and an Event Minigame. Winners of the main categories will receive prizes including an all-expenses-paid trip to the Game Developer Conference (GDC), a one-year JetBrains subscription, and at least $4,000 in cash. This partnership is part of a broader collaboration, which includes a content series demonstrating the role of AI in esports team operations.

In competitive roster news, Gen.G has finalized its Call of Duty: Warzone roster for the upcoming season with the signing of Esports World Cup 2025 winner Aydan ‘Aydan‘ Conrad. Aydan, who previously represented Twisted Minds and is recognized as one of the best Warzone players globally, joins Rhys ‘Rated‘ Price and World Series of Warzone champion ‘Lenun’. The new trio forms a formidable lineup, signaling Gen.G's strong intent to compete at the top of the battle royale's esports circuit. Aydan's signing follows his impressive year, which included a 9th-place finish at the World Series of Warzone 2025 Global Final.
