Episode 160 of Love At First Scent PART ONE

In this episode, I presented my list of the Top 10 best romantic perfumes, to mark the approach of Valentine’s Day 2021.

Here’s the blotter update:

- Of the four scents I tried in this instalment, the one that has faded away the most is definitely the Comme Des Garcons. But that isn’t necessarily a problem, because its whole point is to be delicate and tender. Galop veers further and further away from the rose as it develops, with its leather becoming oilier and more petrol-infused; shades of Hermes Cuir D’Ange. Seville A L’Aube displays that signature Duchaufour base of cuddly-milky woods and musks. And the Grandiflora is technically quite remarkable, in the sense that it appears to project pretty much the same brightness and optimism as it does when you first spray it.
