Did Michael Schenker play one of the Greatest Rock Guitar Solos Of All Time in 1977?
Did UFO's Michael Schenker play one of the Greatest Rock Guitar Solos Of All Time in 1977?
I believe it is for sure one of the most powerful guitar solos in history. Those notes came from heaven. The more you listen to it the more you understand the story coming from Michael's soul. The guy was 100% telling a story and I understand every one of those notes and how powerful they are because it talks to my soul as well, just out of this world!!!
I was 14 years old living in Rockville, MD attending Tilden Jr High riding with my mom in her car when the radio station played a commercial about UFO "Lights Out".
The announcer said in a really powerful voice: "UFO Lights Out Now Available!" and played a few guitar parts from the album and blew me away. The next day there I was listening to my amazing Lights Out album.
Funny that I heard it so many times through all these years and as time goes by I'm just amazed at how good this album really is.
"Love To Love" in particular is a masterpiece and the more I listen to it, the more I discover how good Michael Schenker is. His guitar playing goes beyond time. What he played on this track is what most players can't in a lifetime because they want to show off their guitar shredding speed instead of playing to the music. Michael Schenker is a one-of-a-kind musician, he really understands how music is supposed to be played and heard. I just wanted to praise him with this video hoping that other people can recognize him as a true guitar hero and songwriter. Thank you, Michael Schenker you are a living legend!
