KASESE DISTRICT ESTMATED BUDGET FOR THE FY2026/27
As residents of Kasese district yarn for more infrastructure and good service delivery, the district budget for the financial year 2026/2027 has reduced by 3 billion compared to last financial year's budget.
While presenting the budget at multipurpose hall in Kasese municipality, hon. Sharon Musoki, the secretary for finance, planning, and administration, indicated that the last financial year's budget was 120,119,337,000=, whereas this financial year's budget is 116,797,604,000= as the education sector allocated the lion's share about 45,471,151,000= equivalent to 38.9% to fund universal primary education, universal secondary education and development activities where by as Kasese population battle with lack of enough safe and clean water even in the municipality, water was allocated only 1,279,439,000= equivalent to 1.1%
Hon. Sharon Musoki added that 61.2% of the projected budget for FY 2026/2027 will pay salaries for staff,
26.3% will go towards recruitment of non-wage expenditure to support and implement decentralized services at the district and Lower Local Governments, 13.0% will go towards domestic development including donor supported projected and activities.
As Kasese has many challenges including poor roads, residents are widely opening their eyes towards the currently elected leaders most under the ruling party NRM whether they will properly deliberate as they sworn in early may 2026 even when the financial budget has reduced by 3 Billion ugx from the last finance year.
