How to Do Your First POTA Activation | Beginner's Guide

Thinking about trying Parks on the Air but not sure where to start?

In this video, I head out to Henlow Millennium Meadow (GB-6101) to demonstrate exactly how to complete your first POTA activation.
Using a simple and affordable setup consisting of a Xiegu G90 and a cheap telescopic whip antenna, I cover everything you'll need to know, including:
• What equipment to bring
• How to find and activate a POTA park
• How to spot yourself on the POTA website
• Making contacts and qualifying the activation
• Common beginner questions

By the end of the outing, we manage 11 contacts and successfully activate the park.
POTA is one of the most enjoyable and accessible sides of amateur radio, and hopefully this video shows that you don't need expensive equipment or years of experience to get out and have a go.
