Beaumont ISD Superintendent Shares End-of-Year Vision Following State Takeover

Beaumont ISD Superintendent Sandi Massey is outlining her vision for improving student achievement and strengthening accountability across the district following the state takeover of BISD. During an end-of-year news conference, Massey emphasized the importance of community involvement and ongoing support for educators as the district works toward higher academic performance.

Massey compared effective schools to successful sports teams, arguing that teachers need regular coaching, feedback and support rather than limited evaluations throughout the year. She says stronger instructional leadership will be a key part of the district’s improvement efforts.

As Beaumont ISD prepares for the upcoming school year, Massey says administrators and staff will spend the summer working on changes aimed at improving classroom performance and student outcomes. Community leaders and business stakeholders have also been invited to play a role in the district’s future success.
