We don’t ask for proof or documents during Census: Telangana Director of Census Operations

Self-enumeration as part of Census-2027 process began in Telangana on Sunday (April 26, 2026). People can visit self-enumeration portal (se.census.gov.in) to answer the questions online between 6 a.m. to 12 midnight from April 26 to May 10. This will be followed by field/door-to-door visits by enumerators to confirm the details or fill it afresh. All of this is under the Phase-I.

The Phase-II (Population enumeration) will be conducted in the State from February 9 to 28, 2027, a revisional round from March 1 to 5, 2027.

Director of Census Operations in Telangana, Bharati Hollikeri, in an interview to The Hindu, speaks on the process, if any documents are asked for during the process, how can people crosscheck identity of enumerators during field visits and other aspects.
