Gachagua claims Ruto allies plan constitutional changes

Jeff: Democracy for the Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto and his allies of plotting to amend the Constitution by replacing Kenya's presidential system with a parliamentary one, in which the Head of State would be elected by Members of Parliament rather than voters.

Olive: Gachagua says the alleged plan aims to make it easier to influence leadership through lawmakers rather than the electorate. He also dismissed the government's pronouncement on the Vision 2060 national dialogue, saying Kenyans are struggling with the high cost of living and need immediate solutions.
