Court bars LSK from disrupting court proceedings

The High Court has restrained the Law Society of Kenya from disrupting proceedings before courts pending the hearing of a case filed in court.

In issuing the interim orders, Justice David Mburu said he had considered the affidavits filed by the parties and was aware of the events that had been unfolding. The case was filed by lawyer Adrian Kamotho, who is challenging the LSK's nationwide and targeted boycott of proceedings involving pending issues before the JSC.

Lawyers Danstan Omari and Peter Wanyama, appearing for the interested parties who are judges in the case, also opposed the boycott. The Judicial Service Commission told the court that judges and magistrates serving as its members have been working in fear due to the ongoing dispute.
