The 1989 Freightliner FLC 120 of Kentucky-based Jason Earlywine
Owner-operator Earlywine showed his classic ’89 Freightliner at the 2023 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky. The rig is from the last year of the FLC 120 model before the FLD 120 came out, Earlywine said. He’s made some minor customizations to the truck, but he mostly tries to keep it as original as possible. As much of a draw as the truck is on a show truck lot, an even bigger draw for Earlywine is his basset hound, Cledus Snow, named after Jerry Reed’s character in “Smokey in the Bandit.” Earlywine’s Cledus has a wagon to ride in outfitted like the trailer from the 1977 film.
