This is a documentary film on making Nian Gao (年糕) the traditional way. I am documenting the Nian Gao-making process so that the tradition is not lost in our family.
Nian Gao is a popular dessert eaten during the Chinese New Year. The word Nian Gao sounds like "Nian Gao" (粘糕) or "sticky cake". The word Nian Gao also means "Nian Gao" (年高) or "getting taller every year".
