The PlayStation 5 Pro is confirmed to be released in late 2024, that is according to well known leaker Tom Henderson and his sources. Now before you write off any possibility I want to quickly remind you all this is the same person that recently leaked the dualsense Edge and the inZone line products. So whats new?

According to the most recent leak in quotes “Insider Gaming sources have confirmed that the PS5 Pro is in development and could release with a tentative release date of late 2024.”

So we really know 2 pieces of new key information, a PS5 Pro in late 2024. No specs to go with it which leave our minds to further speculate on the possibilities.

Now I don’t intend to spend the rest of this video talking about speculative specs based on nothing, but as with most things looking back historically can give us somewhat of an idea of what we could expect

The PS4 Pro had a 30% boost to the clock speed and the graphics performance doubled. Now this doesn't necessarily translate to what we could see with the PS5 Pro as the PS4 did launch underpowered for its time as did the Xbox One with even weaker specs.

So I think if we saw similar improvements with the mid gen refresh, and if the new patents suggestion is true more optimization with rtx and better hardware to support it.

Ultimately there isn't a clear answer, and at this point anything thrown out there is nothing more than speculation, so be cautious with anyone stating they know the exact or rough specs.

Upgrade and waiting for the PS5
When it comes to waiting for the PS5 Pro or upgrading when the time comes its really going to come down to 2 things, can you take advantage of what the pro offers i.e. your tv has the functionality for it and is it in your price range. Its safe to assume that the Pro will cost more than the base model which I assume could be anywhere from 100 to 200 dollars. Important to consider if you don’t have the television to take advantage of the features like VRR and ALL it probably makes more sense to put that extra money into games or an extra controller maybe even an SSD. With those things considered I would make an educated decision then but one major detail we do need are the technical specs which will further shed far more light on whether it makes more sense for each consumer. I personally wouldn’t hold back from buying a PS5 now if you can and want one as the rumored pro model is ways away and in that time you can enjoy the PS5 for nearly 2 years more.
