Civil War Artillery part 2 Equipment in Action

My video “Civil War Artillery part 1 - Equipment Presentation” is a presentation of the equipment used in Civil War era light field artillery. My 2nd video “Civil War Artillery part 2 - Equipment in Action” is a video of the equipment and gun, a 10 lb. Parrott, in a match at Camp Graying Michigan called the Bacon Creek Match. We shot at a target which was a newspaper page mounted on a sheet of plywood at 1,000 yards! We hit the paper twice and the plywood seven times but lost the match to another team who hit the paper three times. Notice that when a cannon fires live ammo it recoils and rolls back (something you do not see in movies where they fire blanks while filming) and you will also hear the hissing sound of a projectile slicing though the air, as it races downrange toward the target (something you will not hear at a reenactment since they use blanks).
