The H3 Launch Vehicle is an expendable launch system in development in Japan. H3 rockets are liquid-propellant rockets with strap-on solid rocket boosters and are planned to be launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan.

2. Expected launch date: NET 2021
Rocket: Omega
LSP: Orbital ATK
Omega, stylized as "OmegA" is a launch vehicle in development by Orbital ATK as an EELV replacement program intended for national security and commercial satellites. Omega is similar to the defunct Ares I and Liberty projects, both of which consisted of a five segment Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) and a cryogenic second stage.

3. Expected launch date: NET 2019
Rocket: Vega-C
LSP: Arianespace
Vega-C is based on the existing Vega launcher and comprises four stages. Three stages will use solid-propellant motors and one will use liquid propellants.The first stage is based on the P120C, the largest monolithic carbon fibre solid-propellant rocket motor ever built.

Rocket: Space Launch System (SLS)

The Space Launch System (SLS) is an American Space Shuttle-derived heavy-lift expendable launch vehicle. It is part of NASA's deep space exploration plans including a manned mission to Mars. SLS follows the cancellation of the Constellation program, and is to replace the retired Space Shuttle.

5. Expected launch date: NET 2029
Rocket: Mars Ascent / Descent Vehicle MADV
LSP: NASA / Lockheed Martin
The Mars Lander is a reusable, single-stage lander capable of descending to the surface from Mars orbit using supersonic retropropulsion. Drones and robots will scout the Red Planet to find the ideal place to land humans on the surface of Mars.

6. Expected launch date: NET 2022
Rocket: Big F*king Rocket (BFR) or Big Falcon Rocket
LSP: SpaceX
The BFR system is planned to replace the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles, as well as the Dragon spacecraft, initially aiming at the Earth-orbit launch market, but explicitly adding substantial capability to support long-duration spaceflight in the cislunar and Mars mission environments.

Rocket: New Glenn
LSP: Blue Origin
New Glenn is described as a 7-meter-diameter (23 ft), two- or three-stage rocket. Its first stage will be powered by seven BE-4 engines that are also being designed and manufactured by Blue Origin. Like the New Shepard suborbital launch vehicle that preceded it, the New Glenn's first stage is designed to be reusable.

Rocket: Ariane 6
LSP: Arianespace
Ariane 6 is a launch vehicle under development by the European Space Agency (ESA), with a first test flight scheduled for 2020. The final design was selected by a meeting of ESA ministers in December 2014, favoring a liquid-fueled core with large solid rocket boosters over the initial solid-fuel rocket design.

Rocket: Adeline first-stage
LSP: Airbus Defence and Space
Adeline (Advanced Expendable Launcher with Innovative engine Economy) is a concept for a reusable rocket first-stage that would fly itself back to Earth after a launch using drone technology for horizontal landing on a runway. The concept envisions a rocket booster that includes propeller engines and avionics to allow for its recovery by a soft landing on a runway. The boosters would then be refurbished and reused on another flight

10. Expected launch date: 2018
Rocket: Vector-R
LSP: Vector Space Systems
Vector-R uses two stages with a 1.2-meter (3.9 ft) diameter first stage and 0.635-meter (2.08 ft) diameter second stage, both filled with Propylene/LOX propellant. The main body of the rocket is constructed using a lightweight carbon composite material.

Rocket: Vulcan
LSP: United Launch Alliance (ULA)
The Vulcan rocket is an American heavy-payload launch vehicle under development since 2014 by United Launch Alliance (ULA), funded by a public–private partnership with the US government. ULA expects the first launch of the new rocket to occur no earlier than mid-2020
