Violin Prof. Swartz: exercises for playing without a shoulder rest
Professor Swartz gives a few exercises which could help with playing the violin without a shoulder rest. The exercise called 'closing the zipper' is addressing the issue of how the violin could be rested in the left hand. This is very personal and 'closing the zipper' may lead to unwanted tension in the left hand.
