Harry S. Truman Little White House - Key West, Florida

The Little White House in Key West, Florida was used by President Harry S. Truman as a winter house where he could get away from the real White House and enjoy the weather down south. He only stayed for 175 days in total though. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction in Key West and is generally considered as one of the top 10 things to do in the island. Even though the little White House has Harry Truman's name, he was not the first president to stay here. The first President who stayed here was William Howard Taft.
We were not allowed to film or photograph the inside of the house (bummer). Many Presidents have stayed here for a week or two in this house including Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton. There is a guided tour every 45 minutes or so and the guide will take you inside the house and show you many of Harry Truman's items like his telephone, reading table and books.
