Etowah means "Town" which was derived from the word "Ita/wa"
Etowah Mounds are located on the bank of Etowah river in the Bartow County in Georgia. It has three main platform mounds which immediately makes us correlate them to the mayan pyramids. Some believe it was build by the Cherokee (the Iroquoian-speaking tribe) however the history of this mound stretches from 1000 - 1550 BC. was it built by Giant mound builders?
The Height of the main temple mound is about 100 - 150 ft which has a Z shaped ramp too. Follow Me on:
