In capacitive level measurement and point level detection, a capacitive sensor and a container form the two electrodes of a capacitor. Any change in capacitance due to a level change is converted into a level signal. Thanks to shortenable cable and rod versions, the capacitive sensors cover a wide range of applications. They are frequently used for overfill protection, dry-run protection as well as oil/water or foam detection.
