Winter inshore saltwater fishing Murrells Inlet, SC and a breakdown on Fishing Locations

The weather started to break for the first time in 3 weeks, so I took advantage and loaded up the kayak and headed off to Murrells Inlet. I arrived at Morse Landing two hours before high tide. I had my game plan and off I went. Winter Inshore fishing can be a little tricky but you can find fish.
I paddled to my first spot and casted a Zman MinnowZ in color Moodring and on 1/4 oz Trout Eye. After 15 to 20 minutes there was no sign of life (Birds, Bait). I reeled in and started to spot number two. As I started to fish, I noticed a flock of Pelicans diving after bait fish at the next creek over. I immediately headed over to explore. I pulled out the vudu Shrimp and started working the shoreline.
After several cast, a nice 15 ½” “flatty” pulled on the line. I know the water was deeper there so low and slow to find the flounder trout or Redfish would be key. I safely released the flounder and off I went.
I fished several other locations but unfortunately that would be the only fish caught.
Flounder Trout and Redfish move to where there are the most comfortable. Warmer water, bait fish, current or deep holes are what you need to be targeting during the winter. Plan and scout out the areas you want to fish before you leave the dock. This will help you maximize your time on the water.
