Welcome to the Urban Survivor channel and in this video we’re going to be taking a look at the Lumintop EDC AAA flashlight. This compact light runs on a single AAA battery, has a max output of 110 lumens, a max runtime of 40 hours and a throw of 20 meters and it comes with a glow in the dark diffuser. If you are in the market for a new AAA edc flashlight this is one you don’t want to miss.
First off I want to thank Killzone flashlights who sent this out to the channel to review and if you want to pick one up from them you can find a link to them in the description below which will also help to support the channel.
We’re going to start off by taking close up look at this light. One of the first things that really stands out is the linear criss cross knurling pattern that runs up and down the light. It gives the light a really modern look and it makes it really easy to grip the light as well. There’s also a brass gold plated ring which gives this light a bit more flare. It has a deep carry style pocket clip and there’s a lumintop logo on the tail. This light can stand on its tail which is perfect for when you are using it with the diffuser and the tail is not magnetized. You can turn the light on and cycle through the 3 brightness modes by twisting the head. Theres a dome shaped TIR optics lens which provides a soft and balanced beam and inside there’s a Cree XP-G3 LED.There’s also a luminous o ring which glows after you turn the light on which makes it easier to find in the dark.
Now we're going to take a look at some beamshots so you can get an idea of the performance of this light. Here’s a comparison on the 3 different output modes. On the left is the 110 lumens mode which has a max runtime of 40 minutes. In the middle is the 27 lumens mode which has a runtime of about 3 and a half hours and on the right is the 4.5 lumens moonlight mode which has a 40 hour runtime.
This is a look at the Lumintop EDC AAAs moonlight setting. I’m holding the light about 1.5 ft above the 10x20 tray.
Here’s a quick look at how this light compares to 8 other single AAA keychain flashlights on their highest output settings. The Lumintop EDC AAA is in the bottom right corner.
Here’s a closer look at how it compares to the Lumintop EDC02. The EDC02 has a much wider flood and the EDC AAA has a more focused circular pattern. The EDC 02 has a throw of about 37 meters compared to the EDC AAA which has a throw closer to 20 meters but the EDC AAA has slightly better runtimes.
I really like the extra effort Lumintop put into the style elements on this light. The cross cross pattern and the gold ring are a nice touch. Even though I’m most likely going to lose it, the glow in the dark diffuser is a great tough as well. The runtimes are decent as well.
The dome lens shape is a bit strange and the result is poor throw but it does seem well suited for up close indoor tasks. It also doesn’t seem like there’s too much difference between the high and medium mode so I don’t think the manufacturer stated lumens are accurate.
Overall I was impressed with this light and Lumintop really packed in a lot of stylish design choices and decent performance into a compact package that’s really affordable.
Let me know what you think of the Lumintop EDC AAA flashlight in the comments and if you want to pick one up you can find a link in the description below. If you enjoyed the video be sure to hit the like button and if you want to see how this light compares to a bunch of other single AAA flashlights stay tuned to the channel because I’m working on a huge comparison video which I’ll link to down below when it’s finished.
