Welcome to the Urban survivor channel and in this video we’re going to be taking a look at the Drop Vega AA flashlight which runs on a single AA or a 14500 battery. This is the natural white version but you can also get it in a cool white version as well. It has a great 650 lumens output, 5 different modes, excellent IP ratings and it weighs just 1.2 ounces without a battery making it one of the lightest single AA flashlights you can buy.

Here’s a quick look at the Drop Vega AA. This is the OD green version but you can also get it in a few other colors. It has some next textured grip around the head, the body and the tail which makes it easy to hold and also to activate the light via the twist function. I currently have the tail with the switch set up as well which you can use to turn the light on and off and cycle through the different modes. There’s also a small loop for a lanyard as well. Here’s a quick look at the lens, the smooth reflector and the LED.

We’re going to start off with a beamshot video of this light at a local trail using a 14500 battery. The building on the left is about 30 meters away and it’s a bit tough to tell in this shot but I can see the light traveling about 100 meters or so pretty easily. There isn't much of a hot spot to this light either.

Here’s a shot comparing the output of this light with a 14500 battery with a 650 lumen output on the left and a AA battery on the right which has a maximum output of 220 lumens.

Here’s a look at the Drop Vega using a 14500 comparing each of the brightness modes and runtimes. On the Top left is the Turbo 650 lumens mode which has about a 33 minute runtime, next to that is the 360 lumens mode which has about a 1.3 hour runtime. On the Bottom left is the 85 lumens mode which has a little of 6 hours of runtime and finally on the bottom right is the 16 lumens mode which has a 37 hour runtime.

The best runtimes on this light on it’s lowest output setting can be achieved with a AA battery. This is a look at the light with a AA battery which has an output of 3.7 lumens and a max runtime of about 50 hours.

Here’s a shot comparing the Drop Vega to 6 of the most popular lights that run on a single AA or 14500 so you can get an idea of how the color temperature looks and how the outputs compare on their highest output. If you want to learn more about these other lights I have a video comparing them and I’m working on individual reviews for them as well which will be linked in the description below.

Overall this is a great single AA or 14500 light. The natural white light is easy on the eyes and it’s perfect for pocket carry because it’s so lightweight. If you want to pick one up or learn more you can find a link in the description below which will also help to support the channel so I can do more flashlight reviews like this one.
