National Black Movie Day 2022 | Alana I. Smith

What’s good everyone! Currently, I am doing an internship with the National Black Movie Association based in Washington, DC. In this video, I wanted to share documentation of a few projects I’m working on to capture the next filmmakers from Howard University Film Organization. The mission is to continue the legacy of Black films, provide information about Black movie consumers, and generate resources and scholarships for aspiring Black filmmakers.

During Black History Month, I was able to share this opportunity with three students in HUFO who were selected for a $5000 scholarship! We discussed different aspects of black film and our inspirations in a roundtable discussion. Sit back and enjoy!
