The picturesque Love Islet, nestled in the village of Staryi Solotvyn, in the middle of the Kodnyanka River. Adding to the allure is a small wooden hut known as the Fisherman's House, which imbues this place with a sense of mystery. Love Islet holds a special place in the hearts of newlyweds and lovers, making it a popular destination for romantic photo shoots. This artificial island was created in 1970 and aptly named "Love Islet." In 1984-1985, the charming wooden Fisherman's House was erected, providing a haven for fishermen seeking respite from rain or a spot to display their hunting trophies. A wooden bridge was later constructed, connecting the islet to the river bank. The lush trees that adorn this tiny island add to its enchanting atmosphere, evoking a sense of being in a fairy tale.

Today, the house stands abandoned, its front door closed, while the bridge shows signs of age. Love Islet shines in any weather, offering travelers picturesque photo opportunities and breathtaking views of nature. Located in the Berdychiv district of Zhytomyr Oblast, approximately 23mi south of Zhytomyr along the highway to Berdychiv, the village of Staryi Solotvyn is easily accessible. If you're traveling from Kyiv, it's approximately 110 miles away, allowing for a delightful escape into this serene oasis.

Our filmmaker, Oleksandr Diakov, shot this video during his trip through Ukraine. Among his planned destinations was the renowned Fisherman House, a hidden gem nestled within the enchanting Island of Love. While this location may not be widely known, it has earned its place among the most beautiful and mysterious places in Ukraine. As the evening set in, Oleksandr and his partner arrived at the shooting site, preparing for a remarkable filming experience. With the first glimmers of morning light on the horizon, they eagerly commenced the process, capturing the awe-inspiring transition from twilight to the gentle embrace of dawn. Although the footage showcases the sun's rays already risen, Oleksandr revealed the fascinating spectacle of witnessing the gradual shift in lighting as the tranquil waters reflect the emerging colors of a new day. The ever-changing ambiance around the Fisherman House creates a captivating symphony between nature and light.
