Problem Solving Your Retriever Training

Your retriever training is a process in which both you and your retriever learn. It is inevitable that mistakes are made through the training process. These mistakes will be made by both you and your labrador. Being able to identify the cause of the issue will help both of you learn, adjust, and move through it.

When problems do arise, you should first ask yourself if it was something you did. If not, and it's the retriever, was it a willful choice, is the dog confused, or does the dog just not know what you're asking them to do? Keeping these in mind will help you work through the issue. As always, be patient, take your time, and simplify the retriever training drill if you and your dog are having issues.
