Meet Piper: Take a Peek at Our 2017 Forest River Sandpiper 5th Wheel
Today we give you a look at our RV, inside and out. We do a brief walkaround the outside and hit all the cool points, then give you a look at the inside of our full time home.
If you have any technical questions that we didn't answer for you, leave them in the comments below or email your questions to us and we'll be happy to answer them!
Here are some of Piper's details:
Manufactured by Forest River
The line is Sandpiper
Model 389RD
The overall length is just shy of 42 feet.
She weighs 15,500 lbs. fully loaded.
We have a 10 gallon hot water heater that will run off of propane
or electric.
We have a 23 cubic foot residential fridge that runs on
electric only.
We can carry 60 gallons of fresh water.
We have two 60 gallon grey tanks - one for the kitchen and one
for the bathroom.
Our black tank holds 45 gallons.
We have been boondocking on and off for the past eight months
using just our original 12 volt house battery and our little
Westinghouse generator.
Over Christmas we installed 975 watts of solar panels on the roof
and replaced our original 12 volt house battery with eight
golf cart batteries, giving us 920AH of power storage.
With the solar install, we replaced our original 1000 watt
inverter with a 3000 watt inverter charger.
We will be doing future videos to review our little generator and discuss our solar install, which we've thankfully finally figured out.
Hope you all enjoy your tour!
