Celebrating President Cheryl Green’s First Year at Governors State University
One year ago today, Governors State welcomed Dr. Cheryl Green as our new president. Throughout the last year, President Green has been busy removing the “hidden” from GSU's moniker, "The Hidden Gem of the Southland." She further cemented our connection with the community by establishing GSU as the location of the Illinois Black Hall of Fame, and despite the pandemic, has sought to connect with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to keep the GSU community close in a time of isolation. As we mark the one year anniversary, we look forward to the chance to officially celebrate Dr. Green in person at her upcoming investiture on Friday, September 17.
