Authorities in Greece have reportedly closed more than 60 illegal mosques operating without state approval, as part of long-running efforts to enforce national law on unlicensed religious sites.

According to reports, those found to be organising or operating the illegal premises without legal status were detained and deported where immigration laws were breached.

The measures form part of Greece’s broader approach to migration control, security, and enforcement of existing laws.
