Hadrut - Southern Gate of Karabakh

Hadrut is located in the Hadrut-Gozluchay valley, near Mount Argunesh. There are ancient cultural monuments here, although the exact time of the settlement's foundation is unknown. The name of the settlement was mentioned in Ottoman sources in 1727 as the village of Hadrut in the Dizag district. During the tsarist era, the village of Hadrut was part of the Jebrail district of the Yelizavetpol province. In 1923, the village of #hadrut was included in the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous #Region of the #Azerbaijan #SSR, and in 1930 it was chosen as the administrative center of the newly created #Dizag district.
