MY COAST TO COAST

Back in May 2019, I walked Wainwright's famous Coast to Coast walk, 182 miles from St Bees one the Irish Sea to Robin Hood's Bay, on the North Sea. At the time I did the walk as a part of an awareness campaign for victims of domestic abuse. This video was taken from the 6 videos that I uploaded while on my Coast to Coast last year. Most of the references to my fund raising campaign have been removed from the video. My aim in this compilation is for it to be a strand-alone video of one man's walk on Wainwrights favourite walk. I must add that I was suffering from low iron at the time, which affected my energy level and my emotional state. Upon my return to Australia I received an iron infusion and I was taken off a migraine medication that was seriously affecting my emotions and energy. Thankfully, with the love and support of friends around the world, and their constant prayers, I made the entire walk in 16 days (two days longer than planned due to health problems and being ill prepared for the walk).
I learned a lot from this walk and would do it again. However, I would learn from the mistakes I made on my last walk and I am sure I would enjoy it much better. In comparison to my 800km Camino through Northern Spain 4 years earlier, this walk was much more demanding and preparation, especially for the Lake District segment, is most certainly recommended. Regardless, Wainwright's Coast to Coast it is magnificent and well worth doing!
