My Coast to Coast Walk - Day 1: St Bees to Nannycatch Gate - 15/06/2019

Welcome to the first instalment of my 13 day journey across England following Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk.

As you will see if you continue to watch, I try to take in a few of the higher routes along the way, including Haystacks on day 2, Calf Crag on day 3, Helvellyn on day 4, Kidsty Pike on day 5 and into the Mines between Keld and Reeth on day 8.

I did the walk for charity as you can see, raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust. As I upload this, I have raised over £800! A fantastic effort from all who have donated so thank you all from the deepest depths of my heart. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/pipes-hikes-c2c while there's still time.

So day 1 sees me arrive in St Bees at 13:27 and after a brief look around the small town, I make my way down to the Irish Sea and my journey begins. Given I started so late on in the day, I only got as far as Nannycatch Beck before deciding to pitch my tent.

I have included everything that I want to remember from my journey in my videos, I hope that it is of interest to those tuning in too.
