QuickBooks Receivables And Payables Starting Transactions For Opening Balances

This QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks Online instructional training video will show how to input customer and vendor transactions that were recorded before the start-up date of the new QuickBooks online account or desktop file. These open invoices or unpaid bills that were still unpaid as of the start date, must be recorded exactly as they were in the old system. This way, you can record all payments that apply to bills and invoices from before the start-up date. If past payments applied to the open invoices or unpaid bills were also applied to others that have been closed or “paid off”. Then you must only record the amount of the payment that was applied to the currently open invoice or bill.
This playlist was created to show everyone how to set up beginning balances in QuickBooks for correct starting balances in QuickBooks Desktop and correct opening balances in QuickBooks Online. You will learn how to enter opening balances in the QuickBooks chart of accounts and deal with opening balance equity. If your start up balances are wrong, then you need to follow the instructions in each of these videos in this playlist so you can see when and how to make the opening balance journal entry. This only comes after all peripheral areas of data have already been set up. Your new QuickBooks file will have correct start-up numbers and you will be able to reconcile and have correct numbers from the declared start date until today. Each video in this playlist shows how to set up beginning balances for each area of QuickBooks data such as, receivables, payables, inventory and sales tax. Each of these areas must have their starting balances input before the opening balances can be input. These methods are perfect for anyone who is changing over to a new file in QuickBooks desktop or new QuickBooks online account as of a declared start date for the new file, account or system. Follow each of these methods and your start up numbers, beginning balances and opening balance equity will all be correct, and you can use your new file, account or system exactly the way you need to and all number will reconcile and be correct.
