Gaps in SDG Data Myanmar

The video based on paper: “Analyzing Gaps Between Development Indicators and On-the-Ground Realities in Myanmar Based on the 2025 Sustainable Development Report.”

This study examines an important question:
Do national SDG indicators truly reflect realities in conflict-affected settings?
Using the 2025 Sustainable Development Report alongside humanitarian, public health, and secondary evidence, this research explored whether reported progress in Myanmar aligns with the lived realities observed since the 2021 political crisis.

Key findings indicate significant discrepancies between reported development indicators and on-the-ground conditions, particularly in areas affected by conflict, displacement, healthcare disruption, food insecurity, infrastructure collapse, and economic instability.

The paper highlights how traditional SDG monitoring frameworks may face limitations in fragile and conflict-affected states where statistical systems are disrupted and access to reliable data becomes increasingly constrained
