Florence's landmark Duomo (cathedral) is crowned by Brunelleschi's majestic dome — the first Renaissance dome and the model for many domes to follow (climb it for a glorious view). Nearby the Baptistery features Ghiberti's magnificent bronze doors, which Michelangelo called the "gates of paradise."
