Coney Island Day Trip

While a day trip to Coney Island may leave you tired, dizzy and, well, really full (hello fried food…) it’s also a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I don’t mean once in a lifetime “OH MY GOSH AMAZING!” experience, it’s more of a … you should really just do it once … in a lifetime. Unless you can handle junk food, spinning roller coasters and hordes of people.

We spent one day enjoying Luna Park, Nathan’s Hot Dogs (and French fries), the Coney Island Boardwalk and lots and lots of rides. (Like, lots … it hurt.)

The ride from NYC to Coney Island is really only 12 miles, but, as it usually goes with NYC transit, it takes a little over an hour by subway. While you could spend all day there, we barely made it half a day before deciding to ditch the heat and head back home.

Would I do it again? Probably not. But as I mentioned, I’m happy I made it out there once. Enjoy!
