Southwest Road Trip: From Grand Canyon to Lower Antelope Canyon

My first Southwest road trip was most definitely a treat! We didn’t let lack of time get in our way – we hit up the Seven Magic Mountains, Grand Canyon, Lower Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Silver Reef Ghost Town, all in a 48 hour period.

:20 – Seven Magic Mountains just 10 miles outside Las Vegas. This public art installation was erected in May 2016, and will be up for the next two years. Go take a gander – they’re grrrreat!

:40 – South Kaibab Trail at the Grand Canyon was absolutely stunning. Now, the trail is challenging – and much tougher on the way back – but it’s a great way to go inside the Canyon, with amazing viewpoints like Ooh Ahh Point and Cedar Ridge.

1:05 – Cedar Ridge point on the South Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon. It’s just 2 miles in, so great for a day trip. (Again – be smart about how far you go into the canyon; it’s much tougher to get back up, especially in the heat!)

1:28 – Lower Antelope Canyon was just out of this world. It’s about a one-hour hike through the Canyon with some steep steps to get in, but absolutely worth the trip. Lower Antelope Canyon is a must-see on any Southwest road trip!

1:53 – Horseshoe Bend is just a few miles from Antelope Canyon, and is about a one-mile hike from the parking lot. This spot gets so much love on Instagram, and was definitely a favorite of mine!

2:09 – Silver Reef Ghost Town in Utah was pretty isolated, and didn’t have much going on, but hey – it’s a ghost town! What do you expect?
