Walk In Freezer Kept Frosting Up Until I Found This

This walk-in freezer wasn’t holding temperature and had heavy frost buildup on the evaporator coil—at first glance it looks like a typical defrost issue, but as always you’ve got to go through the system and verify everything before jumping to conclusions. In this video, I walk through the full process step by step: checking the evaporator and airflow, testing the defrost system and controls, verifying fan operation and the limit switch, and ultimately tracking down the root cause of the frost buildup. From there, I de-ice the coil and bring the system back to proper operation. Nothing overcomplicated—just real-world refrigeration troubleshooting and making sure the problem is actually fixed the right way.
