This is the story of Captain Johan Lindemann and his command of the Gouverneur Generaal Loudon, a Dutch ship closest to Krakatoa during the 1883 volcanic eruption. Battling against the worst Mother Nature could conjure, Lindemann turned his ship straight into a 120 foot tsunami and hit that bitch head on at full speed! His brilliant seamanship and relentless courage saved the vessel and everyone aboard. Captain Lindemann is a giant among mariners and should never be forgotten.
