What the Kōenji Awa Odori Festival Is Like

Since 1957, on the last weekend in August of each year, the Kōenji area of Tokyo holds their annual Kōenji Awa Odori Festival. It's one of the biggest festivals in Tokyo with about 1.3 million spectators watching 12,000 Awa odori dancers go through the streets and alleys. I decided to see it for the first time.
