In this video, I discuss how you can leverage Upwork's new 'Project Feature' to land more high-paying clients. I walk you through (step-by-step) how to go about building your first Upwork project and how to optimize it so you stand out from the freelance competition. I am going to be discussing why you should leverage big platforms like Upwork to have more success as a freelancer.

When I first became a freelancer I thought that traffic and clients would come right to me because I built a website and I posted in social media groups. Unfortunately, I realized that I was terribly wrong and that this was not the right mindset to have to land consistent paying clients.

Clients are not going to instantly trust you and convert through your website, especially if you don't have an established reputation as a freelancer. After wasting a lot of time and money trying to get my own website off the ground, I knew I had to give freelancing platforms a shot because what I was doing wasn't working.

After doing so, I discovered that I don't have to do this all on my own and there's a whole freelance community and different platforms out there designed to establish yourself as a freelancer and build a clientele.

Once I moved forward to working on a credible and trusted freelance platform like Upwork is when I began actually having success. I started to have multiple big wins in a row on Upwork and I was able to have more freedom and create more opportunities by building my portfolio.

Now I get clients reaching out to me everyday because of the reputation I built on a credible freelance platform. I even rank in Google locally when people are searching for digital marketing freelance skills.

So this week, ask yourself if you are taking advantage of all the tools and platforms out there that will help take your freelance career to the next level. Whether you want to supplement your existing income, or want to replace your current job entirely, these freelance platforms are designed to help you get to that goal.
