Visiting the Obama Family Home in Kenya and Meeting some of the Extended Family| Kogelo|Kisumu|Kenya

In this episode, I visit the Obama family home in Kogelo, Kenya — the village where former U.S. President Barack Obama’s father was born and raised.

Stepping into the homestead for the first time was both humbling and special. The home is a blend of traditional Kenyan charm and modern simplicity, complete with a few cows grazing peacefully around the compound — a reminder of rural life that still thrives here.

I had the honor of meeting Obama’s aunty (his father’s sister), who welcomed me warmly and shared a glimpse into the family’s life and history. I also happened to meet his first cousin, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Across the road lives Malik Obama, Barack’s half-brother, who spends much of his time in the United States but remains deeply connected to Kogelo and its people.

This visit offered a rare and intimate look at the Obama family roots, the simplicity of village life, and the strong sense of family and identity that continues to shape their story.
